What are the FrontPage Server Extensions? |
| FrontPage is a popular website editing application from Microsoft. The Server Extensions provide added functionality to FrontPage. When installed, they allow you to easily add common website functions such as gathering data from a form, hit counters, and searches. While these features can be added by server scripts (using languages such as Perl, ASP, or PHP), Microsoft FrontPage's point-and-click interface makes it much easier for the novice website designer. |
What version of the Server Extensions are you using? |
| We are using the 2002 Server Extensions on all hosting packages. |
Are the Server Extensions you're using compatible with my version of FrontPage? |
| Yes, the Server Extensions we are using are compatible with all versions of FrontPage (except very old versions written for Apple Macintosh computers). |
Should I opt for the Server Extensions if I'm not using Microsoft FrontPage? |
| No. If you don't use FrontPage to build your website the Server Extensions will not give you any added functionality or benefits. |
If I don't specify for the Server Extensions to be installed when I order, can they be installed later? |
| Yes, they can be installed at any time. |
Can the server extensions be removed from my account if I no longer need them? |
| Yes, they can be removed at any time. Of course, if you are using any FrontPage-specific components (like a FrontPage hit counter) it will cease to function after the server extensions are removed. |
